What does it mean to sign?
Signing the pledge allows signatories to show their support for IFAW’s Blue Speeds initiative and does not require them to implement speed reductions. It is an opportunity for shipping companies, associations, ports and other shipping stakeholders to show their support for our call to the European Union to put in place mandatory regulations to limit the speed of ships within European waters.
